It is believed that kachodis were originated from Rajasthan or Uttar Pradesh and were a very popular snack recipe until samosa was introduced to Indian cuisine. This kachori is made with peas (मटर).

Ingredients for Tasty Peas Kachodi

• Maida ( All purpose flour) – 2 cup
• Peas (muter) – 1 lb
• Salt _ 1 Tsp
• Red Chili – 1 Tsp
• Cumin Seed – 1 Tsp
• Sesame Seed – 2 Tbsp
• Dry Coriander powder – 1 Tbsp
• Amchur – 1 Tsp
• Besan – 1 Tbsp
• Garam Masala- 1 Tsp
• Ginger – ½ inch piece
• Garlic – 4-6 Cloves
• Green Chili – 2
• Turmeric – 1 Tsp
• Funnel Seed Powder- 1 Tbsp
• Oil – 8 Tbsp
• Ajwain 1 Tsp

Directions for Tasty Peas Kachodi

  1. Boil and Crush Green Peas
  2. Saute Crushed peas in oil, Add Cumin seed Ginger, garlic, and green chili paste
  3. Add salt to taste, turmeric, Red Chili, Dry Coriander, Funnel seed powder, Amchur, Sesame Seed, Garam Masala, Ajwain
  4. Add a little Besan and Saute well till this filling mixture is dry.
  5. In a bowl, Take Maida, add Ajwain,2Tbsp Oil, mix well and knead medium-hard (see Video)
  6. Make Kachodi by filling Pease filling mixture in the ball of Maida( see Video)
  7. Fry these filled Kachodi low Medium Heat till these all golden brown
  8. Decorate Kachodi and enjoy eating with Green or Sweet Chutney
