Jalebi – An Easy Way – Vegetarian and Vegan Recipes from Sarala’s Kitchen

Equipment

  • Kadhai

Materials

  • cup sugar
  • 1 cup maida all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon suji semolina
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 drops yellow food color
  • 2 pieces cardamom
  • 1 cup oil (use 4-5 cup oil to fry but only small amount is absorbed in jalebi)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Add Yogurt and water to maida. Stir well, Make sure there are no lumps. Check consistency (see video) Add few drops of color few (see Video)
  • MAKING Syrup: Add 1 ½ cup water to 1 ¾ cup sugar. Heat the mixer to prepare sugar syrup (see Video)
  • Heat oil in a Kadhai. At medium heat make Jalebi (see Video), when it is golden, remove from heated oil and dip into sugar syrup for a minute
  • Jalebi are crispy filled with sugar syrup. It is delicious

  • Sugar 1 3/4 Cup
  • Maida (All purpose Flour) 1 Cup
  • Yogurt 2 Table Spoon
  • Suji 2 Table Spoon 2
  • Milk 2 Table Spoon
  • Baking Soda 1 TSp
  • Food Color Yellow,& Red Few Drops
  • Cardamom 2
  • Oil 2 Cups
  • Water 1 Cup

DIRECTIONS FOR JALEBI

  1. Add Yoghurt (Dahi)& water to Maida. Stir well, No lumps Check consistency ( See Video) Add color few Drops (see Video)
  2. Add water (1.5 Cup) to Sugar 1 3/4 cup, heat the mixer to prepare sugar syrup(see Video)
  3. Heat oil in Frypan. At medium heat make Jalebi (see Video), when it is golden, remove from heated oil and dip into sugar syrup for a minute
  4. Jalebi is crispy filled with sugar syrup. It is delicious.
