Besan Ladoo

Besan ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet made with roasted chickpea flour (besan) and ghee. The besan is mixed with ghee, sugar and other ingredients such as nuts, cardamom, raisins, and saffron to create a delicious treat. It’s a popular snack for Diwali celebrations and religious ceremonies. Besan ladoo is a healthy snack that’s easy to make at home or buy from stores.   • Besan (chickpeas flour)- 2 Cup
  • Ghee- 1 cup
  • Sugar-1 cup
  • Dry Fruits (Almond, Cashew nut, Pistachio) ½ cup
  • Saffron -few threads
  • Elaichi Powder


Preparing the spices


In Kadai/Frying Pan, add Ghee and Besan. Slowly Stir and roast at low heat. Stir consistently and bake till Besan turn a gold color.


Let the mixture cool, add saffron dissolved in a tsp of water.


Add sugar slowly and mix well.  Sugar can be added as per your taste. 


Add dry fruits and make round balls (Ladoo). Decorate with Pistachio and silver foil (if you put silver foil, don’t reheat in Microwave). Delicious super tasty Besan Ladoo are ready, Eat any time and Enjoy!

Heat a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan. Wait until the pan is hot and the butter has fully melted.
